Every once in a while, I’ll get a job that is so quirky that I have to check with the client or agency to make sure they’re serious. That scenario played out with some regularity when I was asked to post produce a series of ten second spots for the Sands Regency in Reno, NV. They were noisy, frenetically-paced, hard-sell jumbles of cheapness, but the one that took the crazy cake was “Cash Cowduction!”
Based on my description, you might think I didn’t enjoy this kind of work so I want to set the record straight. I had an absolute blast producing these spots. All of the assets were provided by the agency so I didn’t have to think a whole lot, and that’s actually a nice break. These spots were fast, cheap and fun… and definitely kind of weird.
